8. Troubleshoot Console

Our software works with all cars that have OBD-II. In other words, they are OBD-II compliant.
Unfortunately, not all cars use standard OBD protocols for engine diagnostics. If you have a car that is rather old, or from a country that doesnt required OBD-II, then your car will likely not work with our software. Having similar looking connector doesnt guarantee that the car is OBD2 compliant.
As a general guideline, your passenger car is most likely to be OBDII compliant if it was manufactured or registered after:

On-Board Diagnostics, or OBD, is a computer-based system built into modern passenger cars that monitors emission related controls and performance of the engine, and detects malfunctions. To start communicating with your car, you need to have ELM327-based adapter and a OBDII compliant car. Just connect the OBDII adapter to the physical 16-pin OBD connector plug located near the dashboard (typically below the steering wheel), launch the software, and you are ready to go. Vehicle Connection Manager
The Vehicle Connection Manager is what appears when you first launch ProScan. To connect to a vehicle, simply select the appropriate vehicle profile from the drop-down list and click the "Connect" button. A checklist alerts you of the connection process, and if any problems occur, a detailed troubleshooting dialog will appear and provide helpful information for correcting the problem.

Freeze Frame Data
The new Freeze Frame tool allows you to read any freeze frame data stored on your vehicle. Freeze frame data represent a snapshot of critical sensors at the time of a detected problem (thrown diagnostic trouble code). Now youll be able to know how your vehicle was being driven when the trouble code was thrown!

Oxygen Sensor Tests
The new Oxygen Sensor tool allows you to view tests that your vehicle performs on each individual oxygen sensor. If youre having problems, this tool will allow you determine if your oxygen sensors are to blame, and if so, which one!

Diagnostic Report Generator
