3 COMMON ERRORS OF FILIPINOS WHEN USING THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE
1. Pluralizing words
Filpinos tend to plurallize everything! We all know that the easiest rule of pluralization is by adding s at the end of the word. However, this is not always the case, stop adding s to words that are already plural in form and meaning, stuffs and evidences for instance. Saying anyways is a no-no as well!
2. Your and You’re
Always remember that your is a possessive adjective while you’re is a contraction of you and are. An example of the former is “Your bag looks expensive!” While “You’re spending so much for your bag,” is for the latter.
3. More + er or comparative form of adjective
More prettier! More beautifuler! More better! These are all wrong. Using more and +er form of adjective is just plain redundancy. You can say prettier, more beautiful and better.
Are you worrying you might make these mistakes? Worry no more by taking Linx Provi 8’s English Training Program!
