In the honor of the Nuestra Señora del Rosario, their patroness. Augustinian missionaries were responsible for introducing Christianity to the villagers of Batangas. Eventually their convent settled in the coastal area which later became Rosario.
Rosario was a vast territory then. Its jurisdictions covered the present municipalities of Lobo, San Juan, and Taysan. The Spanish authorities had to create these as separate towns. BellaVita Rosario is within Barangay Alupay in the Municipality Rosario, Batangas. The place is also dubbed as “The Rice Granary of Batangas” due to the vast land around.
