RESISTIVE MEMBRANE PRESSURE SENSOR (FSR402)

Force Sensing Resistors (FSR) are sensors that allow you to detect pressure from squeezing or putting weight. These are very simple to use and interface in a microcontroller which is only connected like a simple resistor (in a voltage divider format).

The way FSR works is that the Resistance value of the device decreases as you apply more bend/squeeze on the element and increases when there is less weight pressure. It’s a good project feature when you want to use force as an input and output an LED light or door lock to turn on or anything you want to for output.

Force Sensing Resistors (FSR) are a polymer thick film (PTF) device. Its force sensitivity is optimized for use in human touch control of electronic devices. FSRs are not a load cell or strain gauge, though they have similar properties. FSRs are not suitable for precision measurements.
