With x-ray detectable thread, 24×28 mesh, 100% cotton. Soft and have high absorbency. All edges are folded in and stitched with cotton thread to prevent the possibility of any loose fibres
Application:
Used as a tool to absorb fluids around the surgical field during a surgical procedure in the abdomen. They are used mostly during abdominal and thoracic surgery or in deep wounds to absorb fluids; however, they can also be used to “wall off” the surgical site. The friction of their coarse fibers also allows laparotomy sponges to be used to retract slippery visceral organs
